P.M. Arts (Production Managing the Arts)
3rd Toronto Conference from March 25 to 28, 2010
Hosted by Ryerson Theatre School
Director Peter Fleming
Sponsored by PACT & CITT

How one manages the production process varies from theatre to stadium, and the people doing it go by different names: Production Manager, Production Co-ordinator, PM/TD, or some combination. What we all have in common, however, is the need to get our production (or season) up on time, on budget, and within a safe and positive work environment. All sessions have an appeal for managers and production staff alike, as they offer skills development and the opportunity to share experiences.

Managing People - Building a Productive Workplace
Budgeting - Where to Start and Where to Spend
Scheduling - Developing a Production Calendar
Negotiations - Collective Bargaining - A Necessary Evil or an Opportunity for Positive Labour Relations?
Human Resources - Put on Your HR Hat!

Special Projects - The Sport of Production Planning
Unions - A Jumble of Jurisdictions
Contracts - The Art of Binding

Instructors include Genevieve Farrell, Matt Farrell, Peter Fleming, Michael Freeman, Sandy Robinson, Ray Salverda, Annemarie Roe, Alistair Hepburn and Ian Arnold.
