What's New > Entertainment Design and Technology Workforce Demographics Study 2021
![]() |
USITT is funding a survey to determine the demographics of the entertainment design and technology workforce across the US. We are among many organizations who are working to improve equity, diversity, and inclusion in our industry, but there is no current or comprehensive statistical data measuring the demographics of our industry.
The survey is being administered by SMU DataArts, the National Center for Arts Research at Southern Methodist University. The data collected will give the industry at large the opportunity to understand the composition of the creative and technical workforce using self-reported data from each individual participant.
For each of the questions, you may decline to state an answer. It should take you no more than five minutes to complete this survey. We regard the confidentiality of survey data to be of utmost importance. Names and other personal identifying information are not requested in the survey. Your voluntary participation is crucial to the project's success. The results of the study will be related later in 2021. Thank you for sharing your information.
Key Dates
The survey opens on April 1, 2021 and will close on May 28, 2021.
