The purpose of this emergency fund is to help artists and cultural workers in the performing arts community who need financial support. The Quebec Ministry of Culture and Communications (MCCQ), the Guild of Musicians and Musiciennes of Quebec (GMMQ), the Union des Artistes (UDA) and the Foundation of Artists (FDA) are working together for the distribution of this funds.
A donation of $ 2,000 will be awarded per eligible artist and cultural worker.
Here are the main eligibility criteria for the Emergency Fund:
- Work in the performing arts and participate directly in the creation or dissemination of the work;
- Be a professional artist or cultural worker, whether or not a member of a professional association;
- Have been professionally active during the last 24 months (contractual or freelance);
- Experiencing financial difficulties.
** A second request cannot be accepted. **
The committee reserves the right to refuse any person receiving salary or employment insurance benefits.
