Job Description / Duties

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Technical equipment and resources associated with the designated area of specialized expertise (e.g., audio, lighting, stage) are appropriately planned, acquired, maintained, and directed within the NAJA to meet client requirements, maximize useful life of equipment, and ensure cost-effective resource utilization.
- Designated functional areas (e.g., client services, community development, and infrastructure project management) are provided with leadership, guidance, coordination, and expertise to facilitate and support the NAJA operations and continual development.
- Assigned Jubilee Auditoria operational programs and initiatives are provided with leadership, project management services, and expertise to ensure consistent and integrated approaches to facility operations at the provincial level.

The Technical Coordinator requires extensive knowledge of:
- highly complex and specialized technical equipment and resources applicable to area of expertise (audio), including proficiency in associated programming, operating, installing, building, troubleshooting, and repairing activities
- technical aspects of performing arts / show business and theatrical production, including applicable terminology, regulations and bylaws, standards, engineering practices, and codes

as well as comprehensive knowledge of:
- the client and stakeholder community affected by the Jubilee Auditoria mandate
- applicable computer equipment and software (e.g., scanners, digital cameras; printers; Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint; Adobe Acrobat; Internet Explorer; Photoshop; ConCentRICs; AutoCAD, Vectorworks)
- Working knowledge of DiGiCo and Meyer Sound systems is an asset.

The Technical Coordinator requires highly developed and demonstrated:
- consultation and facilitation skills to interact with diverse clients, peers, and stakeholders and develop solutions for issues involving various perspectives
- leadership skills, including ability to provide direction to house technicians employed by the Friends of the Alberta Jubilee Society
- written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including ability to articulate complex technical information, provide information and training, and tailor messages to diverse audiences
- Project planning, management and problem solving skills.
- time management and organizational skills

The Technical Coordinator must be able to:
- pro-actively anticipate and plan for technical requirements of clients and stakeholders
- read and understand CAD drawings, blueprints, and schematics relevant to specialized area of expertise and other aspects of performing and community-based productions and events
- identify emerging issues and opportunities relating to specialized area of expertise, designated functional area, and branch operations

Qualifications / Required Skills

Post-secondary education in a related field plus a minimum five (5) years directly related experience is required.

Equivalencies will be considered.
- Experience with stage-craft and all types of stage equipment is essential.
- Experience in performing arts in institutional settings, live event production / touring is considered an asset.
- Working understanding of all technical aspects of theatre and live events
- Experience with Digico Audio Consoles
- Proficient in the use of Qlab
- Must be a team player, and should have a love of the theatre and the performing arts

Salary: $2,621.67 to $3,442.53 bi-weekly: ($68,163 – $89,55.78 yearly)
