Job Description / Duties

The Eastern Labrador Arts Alliance invites applications for the position of Sound & Light Technician for the Lawrence O'Brien Arts Centre, the performing arts centre for Eastern Labrador. The successful applicant will be answerable to the Manager. Hours of Work: Twenty (20) hours per week determined by the theatre's schedule of activities. Qualifications:
Education: Diploma or Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Stagecraft, theatre art or audio visual engineering.
 Two years' hands on experience with audio and lighting equipment and set up, computer hardware and software configurations, stage design and implementation;
 Experience in working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Qualifications / Required Skills

 Ability to maintain flexible work schedule (evenings, weekends, and days) to accommodate all performances and user groups of the Theatre;
 Ability to work in high-pressure situations and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a professional and appropriate demeanor with little supervision;
 Ability to work well with people and transmit knowledge to youth and interested adults

Salary: Salary: Starting at $20,000 per year for the equivalent of 20 hours per week with time off in lieu of overtime when theatre is dark (based on provincial guidelines). Possible increase after 2 years to a maximum of $23,000.
