Job Description / Duties

The following opportunity is for an 8-week placement supported by the Canada Summer Jobs program that supports employers in creating jobs for young Canadians across the country. The Theatre Production Intern is supervised by the Director of Production and the Artist Liaison and will receive guidance from the Technical Directors. The intern will work closely with all production staff. The Arts Club Theatre Company will set expectations and goals, provide training for the participant to obtain and increase their employment skills for entry-level positions in the arts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Production archival work including inventory and organizing of costumes, props & scripts
- Transfer archival video tapes
- Assist with show specific audition
- Assist in sorting and filing the theatre’s architectural drawings
- Assist with preparation and documentation for our tours
- Assist with specific events including our annual musical theatre intensive showcase and other educational activities
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications / Required Skills

- Interest in and understanding of theatre production necessary
- Excellent writing and good organizational skills
- Ability to take direction as well as work independently
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office suite, working knowledge Microsoft Access an asset
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Detailed oriented
- A valid drivers licence is an asset

The Arts Club Theatre Company has a robust COVID-19 / communicable disease safety plan that continues to evolve given current provincial health orders and guidelines and as these may change during the term of this position, the incumbent may be expected to adjust how they work. Additionally, there may be a need for applicants to have access to a home computer or laptop that they are able to work from while any remote working procedures are in place.

Additional Information

Start date: June 27, 2022 (8-week term)
Salary: $18* per hour - *contingent on funding
Employment Type: Temporary Full-time (35 hour work week, 9 AM – 5:00 PM.)
