Canada’s Ballet Jörgen is looking for a Lighting Director for its 2018 - 19 Touring Season to create lighting plots for all Canada’s Ballet Jörgen theatrical events throughout the season both on tour across Canada and within the Greater Toronto area.
Responsible for: adaption of lighting plots and paperwork for each venue, calling of focus and cueing of show as well as assisting with the load in and load outs at each venue.
General lighting maintenance and lighting inventory.
Completion of an accredited post-secondary program in technical theatre or the equivalent combination (3 years or more) of experience and education.
Must have theatrical and dance lighting design experience, good organizational skills, be efficient, and work well with both professional crews and volunteers.
Experience with leading crews in lighting or technical department.
Experience with ETC Nomad console. Canada’s Ballet Jorgen uses the ETC Nomad lap top version to cue and occasionally run shows.
Must be self-motivated and possess good time management skills both written & verbal.
Work well under pressure.
Have ability to work independently while also being a part of a small team.
Working knowledge of current safety standards.
A valid driver’s license is essential. Duties will also include driving production vehicles including cube vans.
Must have a valid passport.
Touring experience would be an asset.
Bilingual (French & English) both written and spoken would be an asset.
Position is full time from August 27, 2018 to May 5, 2019.

Canada’s Ballet Jörgen will be touring "Coppelia" to western Canada and eastern Canada with a few dates in Ontario and the States, “Nutcracker” in Saskatchewan and Ontario and "Velveteen Rabbit" to eastern Canada.
