Job Description / Duties

Position Summary
We are looking to expand our network of Audio Visual Technicians to meet the needs of our events. Audio Visual Technicians will be responsible for the setup, operation, and dismantle of events in a technically correct and efficient manner. They will also be responsible for testing equipment after setups and ensuring that client's needs are met. Operators will be responsible for the seamless execution of all AV equipment, reviewing all event information with the client and/or venue prior to the event, and providing first class service and attitude to all clients, venue teams, and guests.

Job Duties
- Setup and dismantle of events in a technically correct and efficient manner
- Ensure equipment is set to standards and that it is functioning and in good working order
- Provide accurate and efficient operation of audiovisual equipment including audio, video, projection, webcast, conference, lighting, and rigging systems
- Troubleshoot and problem solve equipment errors and software issues
- Ensure event setups and are clean and tidy - cables hidden and properly wrapped, for the corporate look
- Read equipment Pull Sheets and Manifests and ensure all gear has been accounted for when loading and unloading
- Test all equipment and assist in troubleshooting and problem solving equipment errors and software issues if needed
- Inform the Production Manager or venue Operations Manager of any event emergencies, set backs, unresolved issues, and last minute client requests
- Complete any inspection forms and daily reports, as required
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards
- Assist with loading and unloading of audiovisual equipment from vehicle to venue and visa versa
- Assist with proper security, storage, transportation and maintenance of equipment
- Portray a polished professional image to meet company dress code requirements
- Responsible for front of the line customer service and interaction with clients, venue partners, and other vendors as needed
- Other duties as required by company

Qualifications / Required Skills

- Minimum 1 year of AV industry related experience as an Audio-Visual Technician
- Technical knowledge of audio, video, projection, webcast, conference, lighting, rigging, staging, and computer equipment
- Communicating orally and written at a limited working proficiency level or greater in the English language
- Experience working in a hotel and/or convention centre environment
- Ability to adapt to new technology
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
- High level of integrity and work ethic
- Working at heights and lift ticket certification are an asset
- Work experience using Allen & Heath QU or SQ series digital consoles is an asset
- Work experience mixing live bands and managing multiple wireless microphones is an asset
- Work experience using Roland XS-1 or V-800 switchers is an asset
- Work experience using Chamsys QuickQ20, Martin M2GO, and GrandMA is an asset
- Work experience on virtual and hybrid events is asset
- Work experience using vMix, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams is an asset
- Fluentcy in French or Spanish is an asset
- Knowledge of current Safety Guidelines for the Live Performance Industry in Ontario is an asset
- Knowledge of current municipal, provincial, and federal workplace health & safety regulations is an asset
- Knowledge of current Fire and Building Codes is an asset
- Knowledge of current ESA, AODA, OHSA is an asset

- Extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and other physically demanding conditions
- Verbal and written interactions with clients, vendors, employees, and part-time staff at a limited working proficiency level or greater in the English language

Salary: $18.00 - $35.00, based on experience
