The Sound Assistant will be responsible for moving gear around, hooking up speakers, running lines to speakers, hiding speakers, running tests on equipment, cleaning equipment, and maintaining upwards of 24 wireless mics to help setup the sound system before rehearsals begin. They will be responsible for making sure all actors have their appropriate mics at the appropriate time. They will need to ascertain issues with costumes and specific actors in relation to mic placement and retention. When available the Sound Assistant will be called on to listen from the audience to help with setting levels and locations of mics. They are also responsible for creating a mic map that shows when actors have mics relative to the script and keep it updated as changes occur.
This is a contract position that is full time (5 day weeks), on site in Drumheller, AB, from early May through late July. The Passion Play is not preferential to either Union or Non-Union professionals. If you have questions please do not hesitate to contact the email listed.
