Job Description / Duties

We are actively seeking a Front of House Manager to begin a contracted position starting on or around Oct 17. This management position reports to the CEO and liaises with the General Manager and nightly production crew.

Responsible for:

Ensuring a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for all guests
Recruitment, scheduling, training, and management of all front-of-house staff

Main duties to be provided and supervised:

Ensure that guests are greeted, accurately checked in, and seated promptly and courteously.
Ensure that all staff are deployed correctly (right people in the right places)
Remain in constant radio contact and be readily available at all times to handle problems or complaints.
Hold nightly pre-show meetings with staff to reinforce and ensure that staff have necessary training in all policies and procedures, including audience safety, accessibility, fire and evacuation procedures.
Complete a nightly pre-show safety walk-through of the premises.
Ensure that all Front of House staff are correctly and smartly dressed at all times.
Ensure that all public areas are safe, clean and tidy at all times, including washrooms.
Carry out systematic checks of all Front of House areas for maintenance requirements, repairs or refurbishing, ensuring that these are tasked without delay.
Ensure that all entrances and exits are easily accessible (snow cleared, etc)
Carry out or ensure that regular on-the-job training is taking place to agreed standards.
Circulate regularly throughout all public areas, maintaining a high profile with guests and staff.
Ensure and maintain proper cash management, accounting and inventory of all concessions and door sales.
Create, maintain, and suggest par levels for all inventory items.
Create post-show reports for distribution to Management team.

Qualifications / Required Skills


Qualifications

Minimum 1 year management experience in a customer-facing field (theatre, restaurant, hotel, etc)
Strong leadership skills and staff supervisory experience
Open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Well-spoken, energetic, friendly, and comfortable addressing large groups
Current Smart Serve certification
Current CPR / First Aid certification

Additional Information

Experience in box office, reservation, or other booking software a plus, but not necessary.
