Panfish débuted in 2010 with its production “4-Play: 4 One Act Plays” to rave reviews. In 2012 the company proudly presented a Canadian classic with its production of “The Melville Boys.”
Moving into the 2012-13 season, we’re excited to announce a new, more focused artistic vision: Canadian theatre with a current socio-political relevance. In plain English, that means we’re focusing on what’s going on around us: socially, politically, as Canadians. Whether through new works or classic Canadian plays with current themes, we look forward to telling our stories and to really delving into what it means to be living here, now. Panfish is still committed to mentoring and developing theatre artists and professionals and we feel that our new artistic direction is a perfect fit for the foundation that’s served us so well so far.
In November 2012 the company held its inaugural New Play Contest, and we’re currently hard at work developing the winning play into a part of our 2013 season.
