Reports to: Head Electrician, Technical Director
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Be a member of the running crew for each on stage rehearsal and performance, acting as Lead Follow Spot operator.
-Assisting the Head Electrician with the proper installation of lighting, DMX, and special effect related equipment and systems, inclusive of both production lighting, and venue set up
-Share responsibility for the installation and wiring of any scenic, prop or costume aspects that involve lighting technologies
-Assist when necessary with the execution and supervision of crew during the lighting hang and focus
-Complete equipment maintenance regularly, and advise Management of replacements/ repairs
-Work with the Head Electrician to identify and trouble shoot technical issues in a timely fashion
-Endeavor to create and support a calm, safe and positive working environment
-Other duties as assigned by the Head Electrician, Head Carpenter or Management
-Minimum 2 years experience in theatrical settings
-A degree, diploma or certificate relative to theatrical lighting from an accredited university, college or equivalent experience
-Have a strong working knowledge of electrical theory and power distribution.
-Ability to read technical drawings
-Excellent attention to detail
-Clear and efficient communication skills
-Be highly resourceful and possess efficient problem solving skills
-Ability to work in an open-air environment
-Valid pyro techniques license, drivers license, First-Aid and CPR is an asset
This position will fall under and adhere to all clauses in the IATSE Local 63 agreement.
