What a Head of Wardrobe wished their Production Manager knew…

Roundtable Discussion

The idea of this round table is to inform production managers what they wish they knew about wardrobe. The session will be a conversation with a Head of Wardrobe and costume designer to speak openly about what they want the PMs and Leadership teams would consider when budgeting, planning and working with the wardrobe department.

After attending the round table, attendees will be able to identify better wardrobe aspects that they might have been unaware of, like the importance of measurements and fittings before rehearsal, the number of fittings, how soon they may then need to start working on a show depending on the casts needs, the importance of a IBPOC consultant when the show requires them, the type of kit that a wardrobe stitcher might bring and whether or not they should be reimbursed (just like carpenters) if you are going to have wigs.. then what does that mean, laundry and dry cleaning why is it essential to think about this before you approve a show, etc.

I've spent years working with other artists, community organizers, apprentices, interns, volunteers (and the occasional policymaker) to create vigorous content.
