Job Description / Duties

Kay Meek Centre Summer Youth Conservatory 2016:
Designer scope: With directors, develop visual design concept for both musical productions. Build and create the costumes, props and set pieces for both productions.
Dates: July 4-August 6
Peter Pan Jr.: Max 40 kids
Beauty and the Beast Jr: max 30 teens

  • 2) Beauty & the Beast: Friday August 5 -  7:00pm, Saturday August 6 7:00pm

  • Peter Pan: The concept of our shows is to have as many of the kids on stage throughout the show as possible, when possible. This can lead to a lot of costumes, so with our budget we want to go with a costume base that can have pieces added and removed quickly so we don't have full costume changes.
Beauty & the Beast: this will be a smaller cast, with less switching of characters. The big scenes we will add as many of them as possible so we will also need a costume base that can be added to as well.
<div>Props: Responsible for both show props and rehearsal props. Rehearsal props would be required for first day of each production rehearsals: Peter Pan-July 6 Beauty-July 15
Set: Responsible for developing concept of design for both shows in conjugation with the directors. Rehearsal pieces, if any, required for day one of each production. (Ie: boxes, stools, chairs, etc..) </div>
