Venue tech responsibilities include:
-Working with the rest of the technical team to set-up/tear down all technical aspects of each venue during load in/strike.
-Working with each artist in their venue during the allotted tech times times to help facilitate each show.
-Runnings lights and/or sound for each show in accordance to their specific needs for the run of the festival
-Maintaining performance spaces during run of the festival (assuring stage is swept/mopped and all technical equipment remains in working state)
Qualified applicants should have:
-Minimum 2 years of technical experience
-Strong lighting skills (Experience with ETC Smartfade console is a plus)
-Basic sound skills (Ability to set up and run basic P.A. system and familiarity with Q-Lab or similar show control)
-Stage Management experience is an asset.
-Ability to work well both unsupervised and as part of a team
-Some basic rigging experience.
-Ability to lift and carry heavy loads.
The hours depending on which venue you are assigned. You will be required for load-in and tech days (Jul 28-Aug 2) and Strike (Aug 10), after that hours will depends on show schedule but should be open enough to allow for daytime calls else where as long as you remain available for shows.
The Calgary International Fringe Festival is a fast paced theatre festival featuring performers from all over North America and the world. Members of the YYC Fringe team work all year to bring this 2 week festival to the public. We've had a last minute back out and are looking for a technician to join our team for the 2014 Calgary Fringe Festival.
The position pays 20$/hr, dates required are July 28-Aug10.
