As an ambassador of the Montreal Studios Technical Services team, you are responsible for its drafting community. You ensure the strategic vision of the technical drawing methods, manufacturing and archiving and documentation management. You are the team resource person for tools and training in this sphere of activity, in addition to acting as go-between for project draftspersons, the Head Rigger and designers in order to inspire best practices.

You will be known for:
•Working closely with project designers and the team's Head Rigger on the conceptual stages of new projects;
•Advising stakeholders on quality and compliance for the development of new acrobatic equipment and set elements;
•Ensuring existing technical drawing procedures and policies are followed;
•Participating actively in research and development projects;
•Creating technical drawings based on preliminary ideas or concepts;
•Executing 2D and 3D plans for equipment installation and acrobatic rigging;
•Executing general layout plans for the Studios as well as construction plans for manufacturing, and see to their follow-up and updating;
•Creating the drawings required for the equipment inspection log;
•Researching, classifying and archiving all documents and drawings;
•Working with fellow Department members on developing and standardizing procedures and instructions;
•Training Department members on AutoCAD, SolidWorks as

Qualifications / Required Skills

We want to meet you if you have:
•A college-level diploma in mechanical technical drawing, architectural techniques or engineering;
•At least 8 to 10 years of experience in computer-assisted drafting (CAD), ideally in the show production industry;
•A proficiency with AutoCAD (2D and 3D) and SolidWorks 2014 or later;
•An unassailable knowledge of manufacturing processes, construction materials and standards as well as rigging elements;
•Fluency in English and French, both spoken and written;
•An availability to work varying schedules.
