Job Description / Duties

The Crew Chief will be familiar in all aspects of technical theatre. This individual must be able to read technical, mechanical and theatrical drawings. This role requires proven experience supervising and organizing large unionized crews is a must. As Crew Chief, the applicant must be proactive and vigilant in regards to Health and Safety matters during all aspects of the Grandstand Show. The Crew Chief should be experiences with all aspects of rigging including maintenance and operation of chain hoists and winches and all aspects of stage carpentry including stage machinery, which may involve hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics and other interesting things.

Qualifications / Required Skills

•Supervise the installation, operation, repair & maintenance of all scenic and staging elements on the portable stage.
•Supervise the operation, repair and maintenance of all mobile scenery both at the rehearsal venue
•Create; coordinate the crew show tracks in conjunction with the Stage Management Team
•Liaise with IATSE Shop Steward
•Supervise IATSE crew in operation, repair and maintenance of all scenic elements and mobile scenery.
•Supervise all IATSE crew calls as required.
•Supervise crew / contractor safety meeting and procedures
•Liaise with the stage management group and Technical Director and/or Associate Technical Director.
•Supervise the load in/load out of the show and the portable stage.

Qualifications
•5+ years’ experience as a union crew chief for major productions such as theatricals,
spectaculars, motion pictures or television shows is required.
•5+ years’ experience as a stage carpenter for theatre productions including experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, rigging and electrics is required.
•Possession of operator certificates for forklifts, scissor lifts and other industrial equipment is required.
•Experience hiring and managing union stagehands and production staff is required.
•Police background will be requested.
•A strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and other design platforms is required

Salary: 6 week contract. Salary range between $8.5k to $10K depending on experience.
