Job Description / Duties

Crofton House School is seeking a Theatre Production Technician to join our technical team. The Theatre Production Technician will be responsible for providing audio/visual technical services to support various events at Crofton House School such as, theatre performances, presentations, workshops, Open Houses, etc. A flexible schedule is required for this position, as these events take place after normal school hours (evenings and weekends).

This is a temporary part-time position on a ‘On-Call’ basis from: January 4 - June 25, 2010

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setting up, testing, and operating sound system, computer equipment and lighting console in the CHS Auditorium

  • Providing audio, visual, and technical support services for meetings, conferences, and events 
  • Trouble shooting various technical issues

  • Set up and strike of all technical components

Qualifications / Required Skills


  • General knowledge of theatrical and performance technologies, systems, and practices, including audio, video, and lighting

  • Basic knowledge of backstage procedures and theatrical organization

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills

  • Strong knowledge of safety protocols standard to the performance industry

  • Ability to climb and work at heights, on ladders and catwalks and lift and carry heavy equipment

  • Ability to work independently

  • 1+ years experience working with audio visual equipment; sound and lighting consoles

  • Post secondary education and working towards technical certificate/diploma
