We are currently looking for talented Project Managers - Set who are seeking a challenging opportunity to enhance their career by joining the production team for a new production. Duration will be approximately 16 months. Mandate is based in Montreal, with a temporary assignment in Spain.

Reporting to the Technical Director, the Project Manager – Set will be required to work in collaboration with the Set Designer to develop scenic concepts, to collaborate with the Technical Director and project team, and to work in partnership with suppliers to successfully deliver the technical elements. More specifically, the Project Manager will be required to:

Responsibilities
• Coordinate with designers, suppliers and stakeholders to collect, create and manage design requirements;
• Coordinate in the design/build requirements/specifications of the set elements
• Create budget estimates, coordinate budget forecasts and manage costs;
• Ensure that design criteria are understood and followed by suppliers;
• Manage all procurement documentation (including plans, specifications, correspondence, contracts, submittals, and documents related to construction, delivery, coordination, changes, issues, payments, acceptance and close-out) and coordinate with procurement and legal departments;
• Identify and monitor risks, issues and changes, and work with the project team to resolve them;
• Manage change requests, and coordinate the change process with the project team;
• Attend coordination meetings, write progress reports, and manage the collection and filing of correspondence;
• Coordinate all acceptance activities, including the creation and management of all acceptance documents;
• Conduct risk assessment analyses and coordinate with the Health and Safety Department;
• Collect feedback from suppliers, operations and project teams;
• Collect, write and hand over final documentation and obtain final acceptance;
• Coordinate close-out activities with suppliers, operations and project teams.

Qualifications / Required Skills

• DEC (college-level diploma) in theatrical technologies or equivalent experience in large-scale international theatrical productions;
• At least six years’ experience in development and delivery of scenic equipment, including four years as a project manager;
• Contract and procurement management experience;
• Cost and schedule management experience;
• Risk assessment analysis and management experience;
• Knowledge of various fabrication and design techniques and materials as related to scenic equipment;
• Strong leadership abilities;
• Ability to supervise personnel;
• Strong communication skills and tact;
• Strong organizational and planning skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills;
• Autonomy, resourcefulness, flexibility;
• Ability to adapt to contingencies and work under pressure;
• Knowledge of Autocad, Solidworks and other drafting and design software;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;
• Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written, knowledge of Spanish is an asset;
• Availability to travel and work temporarily in foreign countries.
