The Department of Theatre in the School of the Arts, Media and Culture at Trinity Western University seeks applicants for a Production Manager/Technical Director as a sessional faculty position.
The successful candidate will have teaching experience, skills in production management and technical direction, and a thorough understanding of the requirements of a university theatre program. They will be required to teach technical theatre classes; as well as oversee all production activities, including supervising production staff and students, managing calendars and budgets, managing the scene shop and set builds, and contracting designers. Strong evidence of leadership and mentoring skills is required; an ability to design lights, set, and/or costumes is an asset. The successful candidate will hold an MFA in technical theatre and/or design or the appropriate undergraduate degree as well as substantial professional and/or academic theatre experience. Applicants must be committed Christians with a vision for challenging and ethical theatre training, in a small and dynamic department that offers a BA in Theatre and a BFA in Acting.
