Job Description / Duties

The Assistant Theatre Technician is responsible for sound and lighting support for events in the Theatre and around the College on both Fairview and Grande Prairie Campuses. Other duties include assisting with the maintenance of theatre equipment at both facilities; assisting with set up and tear down of equipment and props; working with the Theatre Technician on various College events; ensuring that the Theatre is safe at all times; and assisting the Theatre Technician with maintenance, inventory and repairs to all Theatre equipment.

Qualifications / Required Skills

A high school diploma, First Aid and a Lift Ticket are required. Fall Arrest and Rigging Certification would be an asset. Some familiarity with light/sound equipment and theatre production is also required. Good customer services and interpersonal skills along with problem solving and organization would be definite assets.

Additional Information

This part-time, term-certain position (25 hours per week; may increase due to performance schedules) will commence as soon as possible and end June 15, 2014. Grande Prairie Regional College offers an attractive benefits package and a starting salary of $1,973.80 per month.
