Job Description / Duties

The Driftwood Theatre Group, Ontario’s outdoor summer-touring theatre company, is searching for an Apprentice Stage Manager for their upcoming Bard’s Bus Tour. Contract runs June 18th to August 19th, 2012.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Reporting directly to the Stage Manager, the Apprentice Stage Manager’s major responsibilities will include: (IN REHEARSAL) daily preparation of the rehearsals space, properties management and tracking, prompting, assembling quick change lists; (ON TOUR) coordinating properties and wardrobe, conducting wardrobe quick changes, cleaning and maintaining wardrobe and properties. The successful candidate will have a variety of stage management training, possess a professional, hardworking, outgoing and personable disposition; with excellent communication and management skills, and a passion for the theatre.

Although Driftwood welcomes all qualified submissions, this position is being sought through Service Canada's "Canada Summer Jobs" program, and priority will be placed on candidates who are: returning full-time students in the fall of 2012; students with disabilities; aboriginal students; and students who are members of visible minorities.
