What to Inspect When You're Inspecting

This session will explore the legislative requirements for regular workplace inspections, the frequency and scope of inspections, the role of a workplace Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC), and key areas to include in your inspection - from the mundane production office to the stage and theatrical systems. This session is ideal for anyone operating a performance venue or sitting as a member of a JHSC.

After attending this presentation, attendees will return to their venues with a renewed interest in maintaining a healthy and safe workplace. Attendees will also have the knowledge of how to perform and document inspections, the legislative requirements around them, and key safety considerations when inspecting theatrical systems.

Evan is the primary consultant at Production Health & Safety, a safety consulting practice specializing in the Entertainment Industry based in Toronto. His work is split between Live Entertainment and Film/TV and includes venue inspections, location risk assessments, and on-site safety management.
