Job Description / Duties

Working under the supervision of the Production & Site Manager, the Venue Technician duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Act as the staff primarily responsible for all technical elements within the Festival Amphitheater for all events that take place within that space
• Participate in the construction and/or set up of seating units, stages, and scenery in Festival Amphitheater as well as other set up and some carpentry required on the festival site.
• Assist Community Stage Producer with lighting and sound requirements for Community Stage.
• Assist with the planning, scheduling, and execution of the installation of all lighting, sound, and other technical equipment in the Festival Amphitheater as required
• Assist with the planning, scheduling, and execution of the final strike of the Festival Amphitheatre and Festival Site
• Operate all technical cues under direction of the stage manager
• Perform pre-show audio, lighting, and other technical checks as required.
• Assist in maintenance of set and props during the production runs. Including but not limited to: paint touch ups, minor prop and set repair, replacing and refocusing lights as needed.
• Act as the venue technician for all 3rd party rentals and ancillary events that take place within the Festival Amphitheatre.
• Ensuring COVID-19 safety policies and procedures are followed.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Comfortability with working on a ladder
• Experience working on a theatrical production
• Be able to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 as per the SOTS policy
• Knowledge of audio and lighting systems considered an asset
• Knowledge on ETC Element 40 & Soundcraft Expression an asset
• Comfortability lifting more than 50lbs

Additional Information

HOURS OF WORK: 20-40hrs/week, variable hours. Evenings and weekends
RATE OF PAY: $20/Hour
APPROXIMATE DURATION: June 8th – Sept 3rd (Two positions available – may have differing start dates)

Salary: 20.00/hr
