Job Description / Duties

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Education & Outreach, these two individuals will each be assigned three productions in the season, for which they will:

• Plan one pre-show Students Club workshop per production.
• Contact and hire 1 guest artist for each productions’ pre-show workshop.
• Host six pre-show workshops and post-show talk-backs during the run of each play.

* The number of Students Club events may decrease depending on sales. This will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications

• Comfort and ease with public speaking for large groups of people.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Previous experience working with children or youth.
• Extensive understanding and appreciation of theatrical creative processes.
• Experience in drama, theatre education, administration, cultural management are an asset.

This is a temporary, part-time contract requiring approx. 12 administrative hours per Facilitator, plus facilitation of each Students Club evening (approx. 5:30pm – 10:30pm). Planning/administrative hours are flexible, but each Facilitator must be present at every Students Club night of their respective production runs.

Salary: Facilitators are offered a rate of $30/hr.

The Citadel Theatre is seeking two dynamic, energetic, and self-motivated individuals to fill the role of Students Club Facilitators for the 2021/2022 theatre season.
Students Club offers a unique glimpse into the world of professional theatre to a wide range of local Junior and Senior High school students. Prior to certain performances of select Mainstage shows, schools are invited participate in a highly engaging, interactive workshop with one of our region’s talented theatre artists, covering a unique aspect of theatre – from choreography to design, from stage combat to Shakespeare. Following the performance, students and other audience members are invited to stay for an informative talkback with members of the production’s cast and crew. This season’s Students Club shows are:
