Job Description / Duties

Reporting to: Director of Collections and Exhibitions

An integral member of the Collections and Exhibitions team, the Production Manager provides excellent customer-service and strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external stakeholders by maintaining positive relationships with clients through clear and consistent communication. The Production Manager is skilled in one or multiple areas of Audio-Visuals and provides strong leadership, direction and mentoring to develop the NMC technical team. The Production Manager leads the technical team in executing all NMC hosted events. The Production Manager oversees all aspects of the NMC Performance Hall, event spaces and has experience using:

Audio:

Yamaha QL series Audio Consoles
Midas M series Audio Consoles
Dante Systems and Dante Controller Software
Audio Visual:

Crestron AV System
BlackMagic Video Recorders and ATEM Video Switching Software
SDI Camera/Video Patching
Streaming/Webcast
Lighting:

Electronic Theater Controls Inc. (ETC) – Ion Lighting Console with EOS family software.
Basic knowledge of theater lighting, fixture rigging, and dimmer control systems

Qualifications / Required Skills

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide excellent customer-service
Supervise and manage a team of Technical staff
Act as first point of contact for internal and external clients
Manage and maintain Audio/Visual and lighting equipment at Studio Bell
Work with NMC staff, volunteers and third-party vendors to successfully execute Audio/Visual and lighting at Studio Bell
Ensure proper maintenance and record keeping for the Performance Hall
Maintain documentation and operational best practices for use of all Audio/Visual and lighting equipment in the Performance Hall
Train NMC staff and volunteers on the operation, setup and maintenance of Audio/Visual and lighting equipment
Maintaining a safe and orderly work space
Maintenance records and Fault lists
Ensure all stock of consumable items are kept updated
Assist the Director of Collections and Exhibitions with other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Post-secondary training and/or equivalent experience in Audio Recording technology
Post-secondary training in the field of Live Events and or Technical Theater
Proficient in live music events and capture
Comfortable with interacting with the public which includes public speaking and high-touch customer service
Adaptable, flexible and function effectively in a team environment
Capable of taking initiative with a positive attitude
Has a positive, winning attitude, and is energetic, driven and goal oriented
Accuracy and attention to detail
Must be organized and have excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and works well under pressure
Passion for music essential
Proficient with computer systems used in multimedia production, including web-casting
Experience with Event Pro
Experience in leading crews of several technicians
Experience in liaising with third party vendors in providing additional support for events
Fall Arrest certification and scissor lift certification is an asset
Preferred Skill Set

The successful candidate should possess the following skills:

2-5 years relevant experience managing a team of 5 or more staff
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and external partners
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to keep and maintain accurate records
Works well with others
Ability to provide a self-starting approach to daily tasks
Strong attention to detail and organized approach to day-to-day tasks
Critical thinking skill set
Problem solving and logistic skill set
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Available to work outside regular business hours
