Job Description / Duties

Reporting to the Associate Director, Facilities Management, this position plays a critical role in ensuring clients have an exceptional experience when renting our facilities. Success requires effective leadership and development of colleague and vendor/partner relationships, as well as unionized staff management.

This is an in-person position, with limited ability to work remotely and will require some evening and weekend shifts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that service excellence is delivered at all client-facing touch points within the Facilities Management areas.
- Provide production expertise in the management of theatrical infrastructure and operations throughout the COC’s facilities.
- Provide production expertise and guidance to client in the use of the infrastructure and unionized staff.
- Ensure that all government guidelines, bylaws etc., related to health and safety, work place safety are followed, as well as ensure brand and financial risk for the organization are minimized.
- Support the Facility Management team with ensuring that all physical components of the building are maintained to the highest level with respect to fit and finish, by communicating any deficiencies.
- Support major tenants’ production requirements.
- Supervision and leadership of the house crews.

Qualifications / Required Skills

The ideal candidate has a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a similar leadership capacity, preferably within the performing arts, venue or events field, combined with a degree or diploma. Preference will be given to those candidates with management of unionized staff experience.

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate:
- The ability to model and develop professional, positive, courteous, and effective relationships with peers, partners, and our patrons/clientele, as well as a business approach to prioritize integrity.
- A curious nature combined with a desire for excellence.
- Top-level written and oral communications skills, combined with the ability to present to and influence various stakeholders.
- Exceptional leadership, intrapersonal, and colleague development skills.
- The ability to listen, process, and reinterpret pertinent information and communicate effectively, combined with problem solving and prioritizing skills.
- Strong drafting skills, and proficiency with either AutoCAD or Vectorworks
- Superior time and organizational skills, with the ability to balance high-level attention to detail with the need to manage on a larger scale.
- Knowledge of stage craft, lighting, sound, and video along with best practices in Live Entertainment
- Strong understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations
- Affinity to work in a diverse, inclusive, and artistic environment.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office 365, Word and Excel.
