Job Description / Duties

The following opportunity is for an 8-week placement supported by the Canada Summer Jobs program that supports employers in creating jobs for young Canadians across the country. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Recruitment – will coordinate and assist with posting opportunities on related on-line job boards and social media, managing candidate information and coordinate interviews with a variety of departments
• Onboarding / Off-boarding – will assist with the delivery and continued development of onboarding (and off-boarding) team members into the organization
• Participate in the development of new HR initiatives related to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility
• Research current trends in people practices and programs
• Will assist with internal resources and document maintenance i.e. org charts, handbook, etc.
• Other work as assigned

Qualifications / Required Skills

• 1-2 years related experience is ideal
• New graduate or pursuing post secondary education or equivalent experience in human resources, organizational development or a related field
• Works independently and well in a team
• Resourceful, with a commitment to providing excellent & timely HR support
• Adaptable with a strong attention to detail, is organized, operationally focused & tech savvy
• Strong people skills and an effective written communicator
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to deal with multiple stakeholders and sensitive information
• Collaborative & passionate about cultivating trusting relationships
• People focused with a high interest in creating meaningful workplace experiences
• Passionate about creating an inclusive, diverse culture where people feel they belong
• A passion for the arts, specifically theatre is an asset

The Arts Club Theatre Company has a robust COVID-19 / communicable disease safety plan that continues to evolve given current provincial health orders and guidelines and as these may change during the term of this position, the incumbent may be expected to adjust how they work. Additionally, there may be a need for applicants to have access to a home computer or laptop that they are able to work from while any remote working procedures are in place.

Additional Information

Start date: June 27, 2022 (8-week term)
Salary: $18* per hour - *contingent on funding
Employment Type: Temporary Full-time (35 hour work week, 9 AM – 5:00 PM.)
