Job Description / Duties

monstrARTity is currently seeking applicants for the freelance consultant contract position of Operations Lead, with availability from Apr 4, 2022. This position will support #BollywoodMonster Mashup, the largest South Asian festival in Canada and rated the #1 festival at Mississauga Celebration Square.

Born in 2011, monstrARTity is an award-winning, Mississauga-based incorporated not-for-profit organization, filling systemic cultural and economic gaps in underserved diverse communities via festivals, interactive workshops for youth & seniors, artist mentorship and youth employment programs.

* This position is a combination of remote work, team conference calls and meetings in Mississauga. Meetings are currently being conducted virtually due to COVID-19. This will be modified according to provincial and Peel Public Health guidelines.*

Duties
Pre-production:
- Contributing to the creation and execution of site maps, team, artist & volunteer hospitality plans, health & safety documentation, load-in & load-out production schedules, inventory ground transportation plans, volunteer recruitment & management schedules, vendor advancing and other relevant planning documents
- Managing communication processes and ensuring both parties adhere to all contracts/agreements, in regards to volunteers and vendors for organization’s festival production days

Production:
- Communicating and delivering on-site logistical requirements (activation footprints, technical requirements, accessibility, suppliers, load-in/out times etc) in relation to sponsors', collaborators', vendors’ and operational needs
- Managing on-site volunteers and liaising with festival vendors, City staff, operations suppliers (tents, security, portalets, EMS etc), volunteers, venue coordinators and other external program contacts as necessary
- Managing team, artist & volunteer hospitality areas, including food/drink suppliers, quantities and setup

Post-production:
- Reconciliation of festival operations budget, organization's inventory and volunteer recognition letters
- Documentation of site, hospitality, vendor, volunteers and other operations processes and recommendations reporting

- Earliest start date: Apr 4, 2022
- Perks: Remote work and flexible hours
- Term: Apr 4 - Aug 31, 2022. Opportunity for extension can be considered.
- Compensation: $1,000-$2,000/month, negotiated based on experience and time commitment
- Must be able to make mandatory weekly team calls (Tuesdays), team meetings in Mississauga and stakeholder meetings in the Greater Toronto Area as required*
- *Meetings are currently being conducted virtually due to COVID-19. This will be modified according to provincial and Peel Public Health guidelines
- Must have access to own laptop and phone
