Qualifications / Required Skills

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
We want MTI to be a place where artists are allowed to explore what they are passionate and curious about with younger, inexperienced artists. We are not looking for instructors to teach what we teach – but rather instructors who have something exciting of their own to offer. We want our young artists to experience training of all forms that include voice work, movement, musicianship, etc. To that end, we are looking for instructors with some, but certainly not all of the following qualifications:
• A passion for the performing arts, especially in musical theatre
• Professional experience as an actor, director, choreographer, or musical director
• Completion of post-secondary training in Education, Music, Theatre, or Performing Arts
• Training outside typical educational institutions (universities, conservatories, etc.) in: Voice (singing), Movement, Dance, Acting, Non-traditional and/or underexplored forms of theatre training
• Experience leading classes
• Experience co-teaching
• Experience as a private voice coach
• A proficient piano player with competent sight-reading ability
• A high level of musical understanding/appreciation
• Exceptional attention to detail and deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Applicants will need to provide a police information check for working with youth
• Proof of Covid vaccination

The Arts Club Theatre Company continues to maintain COVID protocols as required by public health, and students will have to provide proof of vaccination to participate.
