Job Description / Duties

The Junior Quality Assurance Inspector is key for overseeing the quality of selected incoming parts and goods received. Maintaining the quality assurance of selective goods before being used in the assembly. Coordinating with the Logistics Manager, Production Manager and Vendors about any concerns with the quality of the goods and returns to the vendor.

This pivotal position ensures a safe, orderly and consistent operation so that we maintain a quality standard in all products assembled and packaged through accurate documentation and following procedures. Conducting testing effectively and efficiently to satisfy both internal and external customer requirements.

Duties:
• Inspecting and verifying parts, products, procedures, processes, and/or specifications to ensure conformance with organizational standards.
• Ensuring PCBs are to specification; including the dimensions, functionality, and colour
• Working collaboratively with members of Manufacturing to improve processes and optimize productivity. Ensuring timely response to potential lot release impact with corrections and their timelines
• Conduct regular inspections and quality checks throughout production to identify deviations or defects.
• Collecting data as required to assist in driving improvement, process or product monitoring, as well as auditing processes and systems and applying statistical quality control procedures. Reporting defects to applicable departments, discussing results, recommending corrective action as required, and ensuring and verifying the corrective action is implemented.
• Complete the non-compliance report to include the issue, pictures, and quantities of failure rates and rejections as well as the solution required from the supplier or to re-work in the machine shop
• Follow up with the Vendor on all RMA’s and keep an RMA log of outstanding items
• Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Testing products or equipment as required in accordance with work instructions.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications:
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills; Ability to write procedures
• Ability to communicate the goals and objectives to staff members
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools and other tools to perform duties in the assembly role
• Understanding of tolerances of parts
• Ability to read mechanical drawings
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and MS Outlook
• Ability to learn fast, be ambitious and come up with new innovative ideas
• Excellent organizational skills
• Detail orientated
• Excellent mentor and training skills required
• Ability to work well independently or as part of a team
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as specification drawings or blueprints, procedure manuals, safety rules, and operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to apply sound judgment and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several daily variables and irregular situations during rushed periods.
• Experience with ERP systems considered an asset

Education and Experience:
• High school level education or work experience in the same field of manufacturing Experience working in a warehouse environment for 3 years
• Mechanical experience with measuring tools
• Experience in Quality Assurance is an asset. Trade school certificate an asset, but not required
