Job Description / Duties

Drayton Entertainment is searching for a candidate to fill the seasonal position of House Technician – King’s Wharf Theatre for the 2022 season. The contract will start
June 19, 2022 and finish on August 28, 2022.

The House Technician will:

• Hang & Focus lighting for all shows at the King’s Wharf Theatre
• Load-in & fit-up scenery as required
• Run shows as stage crew and/or spot operator as assigned
• Liaise with stage management teams and Facility Manager / Front of House staff to complete repairs as required
• Participate in season site prep, changeovers, & load-outs
• Follow all Health and Safety policies, and advise the supervisor of any safety concerns throughout the season

From time to time, other duties may be assigned as required. This may include working at alternate worksites, and different schedules. Advance notice will be given for any changes to established working hours and locations.

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Work experience and training in Technical Theatre Production with a focus on those skills described above
• Good interpersonal skills and a team player
• Working at heights
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Previous experience programming ETC lighting consoles would be an asset
• Valid G Driver’s License would be an asset

Additional Information

This position is based at the King’s Wharf Theatre in Penetanguishene, ON. Individuals required to work onsite must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with Drayton Entertainment’s COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Accommodations may be requested due to medical exemption.

Salary: $21.00 per hour plus 4% vacation pay (typically a 40 hour work week)
