Job Description / Duties
Head of Props, Mentor: The Head of Props will realize props for the two shows that we produce in repertory as well as Mentor our Intern. Interns are chosen by interview from theatre courses across Canada. We have had interns from York University, Sheridan College, Cambrian University theatre production programs.
The Watermark Theatre props shop is small but is equipped with necessary tools. We work to as high as a standard as we can achieve. We build as well as find/alter pieces depending on the needs of the shows. Bill Layton will be set and props designer for both shows. He will not be in residence so the Head will have some degree of freedom in the decision-making process. This season we are producing The Mousetrap and The Trip to Bountiful in repertory. Both are being directed by our Artistic Director, Robert Tsonos
Qualifications / Required Skills
• Able to research, build, find props as necessary
• Able to work well in a team environment.
• Able to lead, teach and share knowledge. Has strong communication skills.
• Has a good understanding of the workings of a small props shop
Dates & Fee: May 25 – July 4 $625 per week
Travel and Accommodations: Return flight to PEI at economy fares or equivalent if driving covered by Watermark Theatre. Watermark Theatre will find and cover accommodations within North Rustico area.
