Job Description / Duties

The Head of Props/Production Crew at Ship’s Company Theatre works under the direction of the Technical Director/Production Manager along with the Artistic Director and General Manager. They also work in collaboration with the director and designers of our mainstage production. This role has the responsibility of sourcing, altering and designing props for our main production, as well as the overall organization and maintenance of props storage.

Qualifications / Required Skills

- Ability to research and find specific items
- Creative and imaginative design mind
- Eager and curious learner
- Self-motivated, independent worker
- A general overall understanding in all aspects of production
- Experience within the production and technical theatre industry or a degree within the discipline
- Previous props building is an asset
- Carpentry knowledge is an asset

Additional Information

Contract length: 8 weeks
Dates: June 27 – August 21, 2022
Fee: $650/week
Travel and Accommodations: Ship’s will provide travel to and from Parrsboro, NS, and will help in finding reasonable and affordable housing for the length of the contract.
