Job Description / Duties

Responsibilities
• Ensure smooth operation of shows & technical rehearsals.
• On an ongoing basis, maintain, or cause to be maintained, all lighting, video, and related equipment in their care; such equipment shall be maintained in good working order to avoid any loss of time during set-up, rehearsal or performances.
• In co-operation with the Technical Director, maintain an up-to-date inventory of related equipment.
• Participate in the selection of equipment, the planning of long-term improvements and maintenance.
• Supervise the lighting hang, focus and cuing sessions and maintain the design during the run of the show.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of current lighting control systems such as ETC EOS console and lighting systems.
• An understanding of basic electrics, dimmers, DMX and Networking.
• Some experience with pyrotechnics and special effects.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair cables and connectors; soldering is an asset.
• Have sufficient knowledge of stage carpentry and rigging to assist the Master Carpenter and Head of Sound when necessary.
• Ability to read technical drawings and related specifications.
• Any recent training certifications such as harness and heights is an asset but not essential.
• Must be a member of IATSE local 63 in good standing or willing to join.

Salary: This is an hourly position under an IATSE collective agreement with 40-hour weeks during the scheduled season plus overtime. This position also includes a benefits package that starts after a probationary period. Hourly: $22.90 for the 21/22 Season
