The City of Fort Saskatchewan is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Front of House Supervisor to join our team. Reporting to the Supervisor of Shell Theatre and Events, the Front of House Supervisor will coordinate delivery of events or functions at the Dow Centennial Centre and other City Facilities as required. The Front of House Supervisor will support all events with superior box office, volunteer, and bar services management. The Front of House Supervisor will ensure the highest level of customer service for our volunteers, patrons and clients.

Specific accountabilities include: working with clients and staff to plan, coordinate, promote, organize, and professionally deliver events and major functions at the Shell Theatre and Dow Centennial Centre. Ensuring quality customer service, and executing on site events including setup of the Shell Theatre lobby and audience area as a safe environment for event operation and public use. The Front of House Supervisor supports clients for Shell Theatre ticketing needs in coordination with our ticketing agency. This ticketing support includes coordination with vendors, internal and external communication of event information and direct and advisory customer service delivery. This position also coordinates the Shell Theatre Volunteer Program, and support of the City’s Volunteer Program as well. This includes interviewing, training, scheduling, supervising, rewarding and retention. The Front of House Supervisor supervises and coordinates bar services for events and functions and inventory control and sales for both. This also includes coordination of bar staff, scheduling and training. Additional responsibilities include overseeing Shell Theatre event product sales: merchandise sales, inventory management and reconciliation with external promoters, and vendors. The position ensure coordination and communications for Shell Theatre Series hospitality and accommodations meaning fulfillment of contracts, riders and requests as negotiated with artists.

Qualifications / Required Skills

This position requires a minimum of a High School Diploma with some post-secondary education in a related field. A Designation, Certificate or Degree in Special Events Coordination, Theatre Management or planning or a BA, PE or BFA designation from a recognized program would be preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with event ticketing experience, volunteer coordination, supervisory experience or a certificate or diploma in Special Events Coordination, theatre or a related field. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in event execution, communications and volunteer leadership along with a good general knowledge of theatre operations is required. Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills are essential to the position to help maintain a respectful and positive experience when dealing with the public and volunteers. The successful candidate will be highly organized, have a positive attitude with excellent customer service skills.

Salary: $65,188 to $76,674 per annum
