Vertigo Theatre seeks an individual for the position of Apprentice Technical Director. Reporting to the Technical Director, Rentals Manager and Production and Facility Manger, the Apprentice Technical Director will be exposed to all technical areas involved in producing a professional production. The experience will be highly varied and can include everything from participating in lighting hangs, sound install, set install, props building/sourcing, rigging, paint, special effects, wardrobe and Facility Maintenance
The successful candidate will be a highly-motivated individual who has a keen interest in developing their skills in theatrical production. This position would be well suited to a recent graduate of theatre school or someone with a technical or production background in community or independent theatre. Familiarity with Vectorworks and with theatrical lighting or sound systems would be an asset.
The Apprentice Technical Director is a core member of the Vertigo production department and, as such, will uphold and promote Vertigo’s values of Excellence, Mentorship, Collaboration, Advocacy, Accessibility and Accountability.

- Clean Driver’s Abstract
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Hours: 40 - 44 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some evenings and weekends required
Dates: August 19 2019 – June 14 2020 with possible extension to June 28 2020
Salary: $700.00 per week Plus 4% Vacation Pay
