Qualities of Colour

Educational Session

A session on the nature of light and colour - what is it, how do we perceive it, and the effect lighting can have on the colour appearance of objects in our environments. We'll discuss the qualities of white light, and how the content of that light can vary depending on its source.  Using some practical demonstrations, we'll discuss colour rendering and see how the content of a light source can affect how colours appear.  We'll unpack some commonly used colour metrics like CRI and TM-30, and take a peek at Eos's colour tools for some tricks for navigating colour-mixing fixtures.
