Using rope access and climbing style hardware in theatrical rigging

TEC Talk

Using rope access and climbing style hardware in theatrical rigging: With the advances in rock climbing and industrial rope access, there are a number of different tools and techniques that can be adapted from those industries to make certain rigging tasks easier or safer. So how can we start implementing that hardware safely, while still using it within its intended design.

Attendees will be able to determine if specific non-theatrical rigging hardware will be useful in a theatrical environment. They should be able to select carabiners, rigging plates, descent control devices that will do the job safely and within the safe working loads.
