Category: TechnicalGreen Thumb Theatre is seeking an individual for the position of Sound Technician/DJ for their 2013 Canada/USA tour of CRANKED. This highly successful play examines the rising epidemic of crystal meth use by teens, using spoken word and hip-hop. The show will tour BC, Canada and the United States.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
set-up and operation of all sound equipment
helping to load in and out of venues and schools
acting as a secondary driver while on tour
maintenance of equipment while on tour
aiding in solving any technical problems while out on tour
any and all other tour related duties deemed necessary by Green Thumb Theatre
We are looking for someone with:
DJ experience, with skills in scratching and live mixing
a solid understanding of sound operation and setup
a strong technical background
an outgoing and approachable personality
the ability to work in a fast paced environment
a valid passport
the ability to legally travel to, and within, the United States
a valid driver’s license
Tentative contract dates are:
Tentative Rehearsal Dates: January 21, 2013 – February 10, 2013
Tentative Tour Dates: February 11, 2013 – May 5, 2013
Tour locations: Secondary Schools and Theatre Venues across BC, Canada, and the United States

Compensation:
Weekly fee to be negotiated
Daily per-diem, while out of town on tour, to be negotiated
Daily driving fee of $16.50 paid for each day candidate drives
