Job Description / Duties

Sheridan is looking for outstanding individuals to join our faculty to teach part-time in our Technical Production for Theatre & Live Events program in the Faculty of Arts, Animation & Design. Sheridan seeks part time Professor(s) who are qualified to teach studio courses in Scenic Construction. Qualifications / Required Skills

•A relevant bachelor’s degree preferred;
•A minimum of 5 years of carpentry experience related to the theatre;
•Experience in teaching at the post-secondary level preferred;
•Exemplary knowledge and aptitude with carpentry, staging techniques, materials, equipment and tools;
•Knowledge of proper health and safety related practices in order to maintain safety standards;
•Professional affiliation with craft societies/councils is an additional asset;
•Strong network of contacts with other professionals, agencies and employers;
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
•Demonstrable ability to convey the conceptual and applied aspects of knowledge to a broad range of students;
•Commitment to excellence in teaching and learning and to working within a team environment;
