The Arts Club Theatre Company is currently accepting applications for the position of a Part-time/ Regular Rental Technician. This position will work under the I.A.T.S.E collective agreement and will report to the Rentals Manager and will be responsible to the Technical Director or Stage Manager in the specific requirements of each production/rental.
The Rental Technician is responsible for the execution of the specific rental technical needs requested and agreed upon by the client and the Arts Club Theatre Company. The successful candidate will be self-motivated with proven ability to work as a communicative and collaborative team member, able to think on their feet and troubleshoot unforeseen technical issues that may arise on the “one-off” rentals, often under very tight timelines.
The hours of work will vary. The successful candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule with the ability to take the occasional last minute call.
This Part-Time Regular position falls within the IATSE, Local 118 bargaining unit.
•A minimum of two years’ experience working in professional technical theatre
•LPEC certificate is required
•LE (Limited Entertainment) Certificate is desired
•Experience working with an ION lighting board is preferred
•Experience with sound recording and video projection
•Experience with Windows and Apple computer operating system and computer networking
•Class 5 driver’s license is desired
•Proficiency in programming and operation of computer and manual lighting boards
•Operation of sound equipment for both recorded and live purposes
•Proficiency in programming and operating QLab
•Heavy lifting will be required
•Lighting, sound, video and stage carpentry setup and operation
•Lighting and sound maintenance
•Supervision on strikes, hangs and focus sessions
•Assist in the maintenance of Arts Club Theatre buildings
•Liaise with rental clients as requested to assess technical requirements
•Assist in the preset and tear down of Arts Club productions
•Running crew of rentals and occasionally Arts Club productions
•Additional duties as assigned
Salary: 24.43 per hour
