The Apprenticeship will be an introduction to the workings of a large, unionized prop shop in a regional theatre. The successful candidate will become a permit worker with IATSE Local 828 for the duration of the apprenticeship.
Under the supervision of the Head of Props, Natalie Kearns, the Apprenticeship programme will include constructing props, planning and examining building materials and supporting the rehearsal hall for The Grand Theatre’s Holiday Season production.
The Candidate
The candidate will be a graduate of a theatre school programme or university equivalent and will have at least 1 year of professional work experience. The successful candidate will be creative, curious and passionate about theatre and have the ability to work in a team environment. A portfolio demonstrating skill sets would be an asset.

The Grand Theatre
The Grand Theatre produces seven professional productions on its MainStage and presents/produces smaller shows in its studio space, the McManus Theatre. The MainStage is an 839-seat proscenium theatre with a full fly system. The McManus is a 150-seat studio theatre with a catwalk system.
