Working with the Technical Director, aiding all of Edmonton Opera’s main stage, second stage, rentals and special events
Will maintain accurate safety manuals, and records for all Edmonton Opera facilities.
Will assist the heads of departments with planning, and execution.
Will assist Director of Production as needed.
Diploma or Degree from a recognized professional training program
1-2 Years working with a professional theatre company/ venue in a technical capacity
Familiar and comfortable using AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Knowledgeable in scenic construction, lighting, sound, video and rigging.
Comfortable working with and leading a unionized crew
Comfortable scheduling multiple departments
Comfortable sourcing equipment and supplies
Comfortable working alone and with a group
Comfortable communicating with event planners, suppliers, vendors, stage management, director’s designers and marketing departments.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license and comfortable driving a 5 Ton transport
Comfortable working with minimum supervision and comfortable making decisions.
Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
This is an salaried position which includes benefits as per EOA’s benefits policy and is considered EOA management level.
Salary to be negotiated based upon experience.
