Job Description / Duties
Position Summary:
Actsafe is looking for a Training and Development Coordinator contract position for 4 months.
Reporting to the Executive Director with oversight from Managers of Programs and Services, the Training and Development Coordinator is responsible for creating, updating, and developing workplace health and safety resources and training courses.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Project Required Skills and Experience:
• Work alongside the Safety Team including Managers and Industry safety advisors to provide up to date and effective resources for the stakeholders
• Liaison as the learning designer with the team in achieving the learning outcomes of the resources and courses.
• Review and update existing courses (both online and instructor-led) and resources like bulletins, factsheets, info-sheets.
• Solicit input and feedback from working groups, standing committee members, subject matter experts and internal team.
• Participate in the development of new courses with stakeholder input
• Review and provide feedback on content and delivery quality
• Assist in creating a training and development strategy with procedures and processes
• Work on other position relevant duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Knowledge and Education:
• University degree or Diploma in education, or equivalent experience in safety
• Relevant experience of 3-4 years in course and curriculum development/facilitation or industry experience
• Up to date knowledge of best practices in learning and development
• An eye for research and evidence-based practice
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office and CRM tools
Experience in utilizing learning management systems is an asset
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Energetic with a strong work ethic, creative, and self-motivation
Additional Information
Location of work: Actsafe office in Burnaby. Currently Remote.
Number of hours/week: 40hrs
Remuneration: $29/hr
