Job Description / Duties

We are seeking a technician that, in partnership with the theatre manager, will operate all technical aspects of the theatre including but not limited to general maintenance, setup and operation of the sound and lighting systems, camera and streaming equipment and projection systems.
The Theatre Technician will be expected to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications / Required Skills

The successful individual must have:
• University or college degree or equivalent experience specializing in technical theatre training.
• Knowledge of basic lighting design, programming and implementation specifically ETC ION consoles.
• Experience working with digital sound consoles, and live mixing situations with emphasis on musical theatre and productions.
• Experience working in theatre production, both backstage and front of house.
• Familiarity with the following technologies:
o QSYS DSP equipment, Yamaha digital mixing consoles, Dante audio network, and wireless microphones.
o Basic TCP/IP networking and computer skills.
o Projection mapping, media and server software
o Offline video production and editing with the Adobe suite.
• Ability to work with the needs of a diverse group of users.
• Flexibility, energy and a positive attitude together with the ability to remain calm.
• Passion for theatre, performance and production and for instilling that love in students.
• Willingness to mentor students in the field and offer guidance, support and training to integrate students as part of the crew.
• Ability to manage changing priorities, concurrent projects and demanding deadlines with humor, flexibility and a sense of outward calm.
• Commitment to and passion for the vision, mission and values of the Division.

Salary: Salary range $51,615 - $59,370 per annum
