Job Description / Duties
This is technical audio, and lighting work during set-ups and performances in the North Shore Credit Union Centre for the Performing Arts. Duties include ensuring client requirements are met in a timely manner, resolving technical problems for the client, ensuring performances and events go smoothly, ensuring safe use of the facility, maintaining equipment and reporting equipment or facility deficiencies. Any one incumbent would only be assigned a specified range of the duties within this class specification as it covers all the functions of the job. The incumbent reports to the General Manager, Centre for the Performing Arts, receives direction from the Theatre Technical Director, and receives direction from the Production Technician during calls.
Qualifications / Required Skills
- Completion of two years of post secondary education equivalent to the Technical Theatre program offered at Capilano University including courses in live audio, lighting and/or stage carpentry. (The appropriate choice of courses will be invoked at the time of posting.) Training in fire safety and building evacuation, or willingness and ability to undertake training.
- One year of technical theatre experience including experience in live audio, lighting and/or stage carpentry in the live performance industry in a comparable facility with comparable programming. (The appropriate choice of type of experience will be invoked at the time of posting.)
OR
- Completion of Grade 12. Training in fire safety and building evacuation, or willingness and ability to undertake training.
- Three years of technical theatre experience including experience in live audio, lighting and/or stage carpentry in the live performance industry in a comparable facility with comparable programming.

Salary: $25.97 per hour (with increments up to $29.23 per hour)
