Job Description / Duties

SENIOR SEWERS

The Shaw Festival is currently accepting applications for Senior Sewer positions in the Production Wardrobe Department. This is a seasonal contract position reporting to the Tailor/Cutters

The position requires an individual with 6-10 years plus of demonstrated tailoring experience with the ability to build men’s jackets from start to finish. This position is responsible for building and overseeing a portion of our season’s costumes, which requires an in-depth knowledge of costume history and construction.

Qualifications / Required Skills

The successful candidate must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, be organized, reliable and accurate and work well as part of a team. We encourage a positive and proactive working environment. A good sense of humour is always appreciated.

Knowledge of Health and Safety compliance is essential.

This is a seasonal position between September and November for our fall season and January through July for our main season. Compensation for this position is $21.38 hourly + vacation pay. The incumbent will have the option and opportunity for off season work in our workshops.

Salary: $21.38 hourly + vacation pay
