Under the supervision of the Production Renewal Project Director, the successful candidate is responsible for activities and duties relating to the management of construction projects, system installations and commissioning and related contracts. This covers activity in both the technical and administrative realms of work.
The successful candidate will be assigned to a major capital project that is complex in scope, with high impacts and risks and is expected to resolve a variety of operational, contractual, and technical coordination issues. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative, but not all-inclusive:
Manage complex renovation and new construction projects and contracts while ensuring continuity of operations as required;
Develop complex technical and management reports including professional recommendations and put forward sound technical alternatives based on the input of field staff representing the contractor, trades and the consultant team
For Consultant Services – participate in various aspects of procurement and management of professional services contracts;
Assess priorities and develop procurement plans and project implementation plans.
Participate in the tendering phases of the project by reviewing plans and specifications for bid-ability and build ability;
-Create and implement selection process related to equipment replacements and upgrades.
-Manage and administer contracts by ensuring conformance of specifications and drawings and safety reviews, and by coordinating consultant assistance during project implementation and supporting commissioning;
-Maintain records, schedules, and documents and prepare reports.
-Coordinate the input of all third party contributors to the projects assigned;
-Coordinate project implementation with NAC
-Monitor site safety and apply principles of occupational health and safety policy;
-Establish and maintain excellent relations with in-house staff that are impacted by or support the project effort.
-Typically requires a two or three-year community college diploma preferably in a Theatre Production program with approximately 10 years of pertinent experience, or equivalent; OR a bachelor level university degree Theatre Production or similar degree with approximately 6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent;
-Technical and applied knowledge related to theatrical sound, lighting video and mechanical systems and electrical design, construction and consultant management
-Demonstrated ability and experience in coordinating work in an operational setting;
-Relevant experience in refit, construction or contract work to ensure quality workmanship in compliance with contract documents and to meet codes and standards, or equivalent;
-Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and documents
-Experience with developing indicative cost estimates for rework and for reviewing change reports prepared by contracted staff
-Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with solid writing skills;
-Computer literate and proficient in common computer applications, in particular CAD;
-Displays an ability to look forward into the project timelines and initiate appropriate action to maintain milestones or recommend course correction.
-Able to plan and execute concurrent activity and manage multiple priorities.
-Good judgment, attention to detail, a positive attitude and flexible nature;
-English; French is a definite asset

Salary: $74,400 - $110,400
