Qualifications / Required Skills

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• at least 2-3 years experience as a Production Manager in professional theatre
• at least 2-3 years experience as a Technical Director or House Technician in professional theatre
• proven leadership skills, team-oriented, excellent interpersonal skills, organized, efficient, safe work ethic
• must enjoy working in fast-paced creative environment
• experience in repertory theatre, working in rental facilities is an asset
• a valid driver’s license is required
• theatre certifications are an asset – rigging, fall protection, aerial lift, OHS, etc.
• must be physically capable of taking part in all aspects of the work of the production department – builds, changeovers, strikes, etc.
• experience creating production department scheduling – production schedules, work schedules, build schedules, etc.
• experience maintaining production budgets/proven record of budget efficiency
• experience estimating/costing theatre designs and production department builds, creating construction drawings using CAD, planning/execution of theatre builds, meeting deadlines
• experience mentoring junior production staff
• good problem-solving/troubleshooting skills
• a background in multiple technical disciplines (with hands-on working knowledge) is an asset– especially lighting, sound, and rigging

Additional Information

CONTRACT DATES:
March 4-September 29, 2024 (30 weeks)
• possible remote work March 4-31 – TBD
• remote part-time hours in February is possible – TBD
• contract extension is possible - TBD

BENEFITS:
• NL Fall Protection and Aerial certification (required) is offered/paid by the theatre.
• The theatre offers return travel (by the most economical method) for contracted company members.
• The theatre provides shared housing (with other company members) in the community. A modest housing fee and housing deposit apply.
• The theatre is located in the seaside community of Cow Head, NL, which is located in the spectacular Gros Morne National Park, an UNESCO World Heritage site.

Salary: $850.00-$1000.00/week (based on 40-hour week) – to commensurate with experience
